Tennis legend Venus Williams isn't going anywhere.

The seven-time Grand Slam champion was beaten 6-2, 6-4 by Spain's Kaitlin Quevedo in the first round of the Madrid Open on Tuesday (21 April), her 10th consecutive singles defeat.

But, at 45, Williams still has plans.

"My husband is Italian, I would love to play Rome as well but that won't be possible," she said at her post-match press conference, noting that the tournament, set for 5-17 May, awarded its wild cards this year to Italian players.

Next up, the four-time Olympic champion said she hopes to play at Roland-Garros.
